Good explanation of the motivation of combining the two stories. Great exploration of each character’s feelings and develop them into the motivation of the performers. Smooth speech with clear thoughts and logic Clear structure of the presentation. You divided the presentation into several parts, which made it easier for me to follow. You gave clear themes and the reasons why you chose them. However, it was kind of confusing when you mention the combination of the two characters you played since you did not specifically mention that the two characters are played as one.

oral presentation outline

1. what story The story we created was based on the two stories from ' Krik Krak", Children of the sea and Nineteen Thirty-seven. We connected the two stories by making the boy from Children of the sea related to Josephine. At the same time, we still kept the character of Josephine's mother. The story goes with two different branches. The first one is the love relationship between Josephine and the boy on the boat, and they write letters to each other. The second branch is the story between Josephine and her mother , who is imprisoned because people thought she is a witch . The reason why we chose to connect the two stories is that we thought one story branch may make the performance look boring and two can have the effect of having more emotions and acting of each character. The whole story describes how Josephine falls in love with a boy who is on a boat leaving Haiti and a mother who is blamed to be a witch who accidentally killed a baby and has wings. She cam...

reflection

After more than around two months of hard work, our final performance of Krik Krak was finished last week. Throughout the performance, all of our group members stayed focused and engaged in their characters. One thing that made our performance special is our design of the staging; we divided the stage into three separate part, and each part has its own spot light on the performers. The distances and separation between each performer represent both the physical and emotional distance; also the division of the stage gave each performer more space to move around, which was really helpful: personally, because I did not have any actual interaction with other performers, it is important to move around on stage in order to not make the monologue seem boring. Additionally, our changes of lighting were impressive; when the scene is between Josephine and her mother, the color of light was red, which symbolizes the brutality of the society at that time and how harsh the life was for the two. Whe...
