After this draft, I realized that there are lots of aspects of the performance of my group and I need to work on. First, I need to have more movement on stage. When I watched the draft, I did not have any movement, all I did was sitting in the chair, which will make the play looks boring. Also, as a group, we definitely need to work on our lines more. Because we are not familiar with our lines and the order of lines, we skipped some, which will lead to wrong lighting and music. In addition, I need to work on my voice too. Because it is a monologue, it is hard to show my full emotions. Therefore, it is extremely important to use my voice to show. Despite our weaknesses, we did have some good parts in this draft. For example, our ending is really perfect. It summarizes the play really well and adding our emotions in it even made it more lively. Overall, I am not fully satisfied by this draft, so I need to work even harder and practice more with my group members to build up the chemistry....

My character is the boy in "children of the sea". In order to perform better, there are multiple aspects of my acting skills need to be improved. First, to show the depression on the boat, I need to keep my voice deep. For example, when I am describing the moment when Celianne throws her baby overboard, I should be the one who sets up the depressing tone by using my deep voice to show the audience how heartless people are when they are facing this kind of situation. Secondly, because I do not have lots of actual interactions with other performers (I have lots of monologues), I need to try my best to show my relationships with other characters. Therefore, as the narrator, I need to specifically work on my facial expression. I need to make sure I look sincere, and throughout the performance I should not smile at all. In order to show a deep and depressing tone, I need to keep my voice deep. When I go onto the stage, maybe I can walk slowly with heavy steps, which also has the effect of setting a sincere tone of the play. The play happened in 1937. The time when Haitian people were struggling which Pasley Masscre was happening. Voodoo religion was popular at that period of time.
