Spring improv show

The spring improvisation show really impressed me by their creativity and their ability to develop drama in such a short period of time. First of all, I was shocked when I heard that Sam Weed was going to bring improvisation piece on to stage because the risk of failing is relatively higher than a normal performance. However, throughout the two days of performance, the group of performers has shown great chemistry in front of the audience and help each other out. Secondly, I really like the third improvisation piece that the audience give a location and relationship for the performers to act with their eyes closed, this requires a lot of communication between performers and performers need to make sure it goes smoothly, for example, when Julia R and Sam W were acting as friends, they showed their friendship by arguing in a funny, which really grabbed my attention. Repetition makes perfection. The key to make an essay good and interesting to read is to constantly edit it, correct errors and think thoughtfully. My final draft of The Glass Menagerie essay clearly needs to be paid more attention on. There are multiple parts of the essay could be corrected, in order to make my essay better.  First of all, a strong thesis statement means a strong start of the essay, which will grab reader’s attention effectively. I certainly did not accomplish this. Instead of a statement, I wrote ‘I will discuss the literature techniques…’. I should not inform reader what I’m going to do, but to state out my understandings of the book. An analytical thesis statement weight 10 points in total, which is a high portion of the total mark, therefore I have to make it perfect. Secondly, I’ve made a huge mistake on my conclusion of the essay. I did not think thoughtfully of it, this is why I only wrote the conclusion on one aspect, which is just about performing. T...

What makes performances good

In my opinion, a powerful voice and proper use of emotions make performances good. A good instance of my statement would be Stella's performance. During her performance, I was sitting at the far end of the seats, but I could hear her lines clearly. Her voice was deep but clear, which makes it powerful. Also, to my second point (emotions), she used good facial expression and body language to show her depression. I think her performance is one of the best I watched for this project. All these points can grab audience's emotions and keep them engaged. What makes audience disengaged would be when the performers are not engaged, it would be impossible to let the audience like the performance if the performers don't treat it seriously.
