Our group (Stella, David and I) is doing a combination of two scenes, which illustrates the bad relationships between Amanda and her children. The first scene we are going to do is the scene when Amanda tells Laura that she finds out Laura has not been going to school for a long time and how disappointed she is. The second scene is the arguing between Tom(me) and Amanda. What these two scene really interest me is that both scenes not only illustrates the bad relationship between Amanda and her children, but also represent Tom and Laura’s hope to get away from their poor situation and the harsh reality. For example, Laura always goes to the park and museum, Tom always goes to the movie. In the performance, I will be playing Tom. This is a really challenging character, since I need to be angry all the time and at the same time when I break the glass menageries I need to be gentle to Laura. The quick transition of emotions really challenges my acting skill. In order to accomplish this performance with great quality, I need to change my emotion perfectly by changing my volume and my rhythms of speaking. The scenes mainly show how the children are sick of their mother, also shows the human nature that people like to escape the reality when they are facing challenges.

Continue from the previous chapter, Desiree eventually finds a young man who is injured from the accident, whose name is Daniel. She sees a broken car, which at that time she had no idea what it is. To comfort Daniel, Desiree sings a song and then other peasants from the village appear. They bring Daniel back to their place and look after him. At the meantime, Desiree thinks that all this is fate, it is the will of God that brought this man to their place. Apparently, Daniel is from the wealthy part, but he does not tell them what his specific identity is. Peasants send M.J and M.B to the city to find someone. After a few days, M.J and M.B come back.
